New York (NY) – If you missed the 9th Annual Kingdom Choice Awards, you missed an incredible event that will be remembered for many years to come. As usual, Kingdom Time Entertainment put on a top-notch event that many are a calling the best produced Christian Hip Hop event in the country.

This years performance roster was a beautiful projection of what the future of CHH looks like and a gratifying depiction of an expected hope for the ministry.

C-King has hosted the KCA for the last 3 years and it is clear why he has been back by popular demand for three years in a row. King was hilariously entertaining and had KCA patrons laughing out of their seats.

Steven Malcolm, who won 3 KCA awards, delivered a stellar performance that confirmed the legitimacy of his triple category win. Malcolm embodies all the characteristics and qualities that every rising star needs to soar to the top.

He performed with precision, he radiated with confidence and he ministered with power and conviction. By the end of the night it was clear for all to see, that Steven Malcolm is a future great in the making.

Another highlight of the night was a palpable performance by New York City CHH veteran, David Veira formerly known as “Gauge“. This man literally bared his soul before the KCA audience and captivated the entire room. By the end of his performance, every person in the Kumble Theater rose to their feet in a standing ovation giving reverence to a God powered moment.

Another highlight was a surprise guest performance by urban gospel recording artist, Uncle Reece. Reece performed his smash single “Until I Pass Out” while a large number of his pleasantly surprised fans sang along with him. Reece was joined on stage by some of his fellow Jacksonville artists, Brinson, Big Fil and D-King who all rocked out together in unified worship. It was truly a moment.

The KCA would not be complete without the highly anticipated cypher. Although a couple of the participants fumbled in their delivery, there were a few of them who clearly came to leave their lyrical imprint on the KCA stage. First up was Noah Da Governor  from Harlem USA. Noah came out spitting straight flames! His bars and wordplay were exceptional, he set the cypher off with a lyrical ferocity that wowed the crowd. Another cypher highlighter was the only female in the group, Brooklyn born rapper, Pristavia. Homegirl delivered like a true boss and had KCA audience members making the ugly face in response to her fiery bars and thorough bread aggression, sister girl killed. It was only right for Jacksonville heavy spitter, Big Fil, to end the cypher. Fil is one of the most consistent artists in CHH, he is consistently dope and he ended the cypher as expected, strong. Shout out to the other cypher members who did their thing, Malakai The Truth, Lee Majors, D.I and Zack Limitless, good job!

This years KCA presented new heavy hitters coming out of Brooklyn such as Marcus Aaron and Redeemed. Redeemed who was nominated in the Rap Single and Up Next categories, delivered a dope performance. His stage presence and delivery felt like that of a seasoned veteran, he made it look too easy, clearly a class act of an artist.

Marcus Aaron was nominated in 3 categories, Lyricist, Hip Hop Album, and Up Next. He won the”Up Next“award and after his high energy performance, it was fair to say that this guy is definitely up next.

MARCUS AARON

The night was full of many great performances. Brinson (Godchaserz) delivered a super dope performance, Bridgewater…Whoa!, Wande (Reach Records) had the audience bouncing when she performed her smash single “Blessed Up“. Byron Juane (RMG) had the audience rocking, Big Fil was superb, A.I The Anomaly (God Over Money) did a fantastic job. 5ive was amazing and Long Island singer Antoine Hilton serenaded the crowd with his melodious voice.

There were some very special and sentimental KCA moments. Two of the special moments were the honorary presentations to the 2019 KCA honorary recipients, DJ Tony Tone and Mahogany Jones. Both honorees were clearly moved and filled with gratitude when they were presented with their awards. It was truly a heartwarming experience.

One of the biggest surprises of the night was when Brooklyn rapper, Richard Dauphin proposed to his fiancee at the end of his performance. This was such a special moment that had the KCA audience, especially those who know them personally, in a joyful uproar. It was super dope!

The night ended when KCA CEO and visionary, Marcus Hall was introduced to the stage. He gave God the glory and offered his sincere thanks to all of the supporters and his team. He went on to share some words of encouragement and affirmation to the CHH community in his normal straight up, no dilution manner. It was received well by those who appreciate realness! He closed it out with a prayer and the 9th Annual KCA ended with a resounding Amen!

Next year is set to be the 10th Annual KCA and word on the street is that it’s set to be something BIG!…So get ready folks…All roads lead to Brooklyn again for KCA 2020.

KCA would like to thank our 2019 KCA sponsors, Holy Culture, C Natasha Productions, Trackstarz, Rise Up Worldwide and Rapzilla.
